FARM LIFE in HUNTERSVILLE
FARAWAY FARM
Faraway Farm has been in the Blumberg family for more than 60 years. Once home to sheep, chickens, cows and goats, the farm is now an alpaca farm run by Leda Blumberg and her husband, Steve Cole.
Faraway Farm has been featured on the Martha Stewart Show and in many different publications. In addition to breeding and raising award-winning alpacas, they sell beautiful handmade alpaca products, everything from homegrown yarn, throws and rugs, to garments, such as hats, sweaters and gloves.
Their products are available both on-site in a renovated barn and online. The farm is also home to an engaging pair of Icelandic horses. Organic vegetable gardens dot the farm’s hillside along with fruit trees, berry bushes and flowerbeds. Leda and Steve work hard to keep this beautiful piece of property a sustainable, working farm, true to Yorktown’s roots.
